Today was quite lovely. While my hips are sore from my first workout, I did manage to run around (socially not literally:) today. Woke up, grabbed the Nalgene (bpa free duhh) and made myself drink water during class. Came home, made some fresh OJ in my Champion Juicer, I felt a little sassy so I added some frozen blueberries into the mix and it tasted quite nice!
Sipped on that lil guy while catching up on my Sex and the City. I gotta get ready for the new movie! Side note, Female Chauvinist Pigs, a book I read for my sociology class hated Sex and the City...does that mean I am compromising my feminist beliefs by indulging in this anti-feminist sin? I like Carrie, I think her writing is funny and modern, that and there was no sex ed at my high school....
Grabbed a coconut burger at Huckleberries, forced Andy to get a hazelnut burger because we have never tried one and it was delicious! From there I was swooped up by Natty to grab coffee and I enjoyed a iced, honey, rice milk, latte. YUM. No sooner was I dropped off at home to meet up with Berret for a puppy play date. We took Adelaine and Petunia on a walk around Brownes and up to the park. The trees are so beautiful outside I think I will take pictures and post them.
For dinner I made some quinoa which was surprisingly filling. I used half a cup quinoa with a handful of raisins and planned on flavoring with cinnamin but I keep forgetting that I am out! So I had to settle for vegan butter and some Nama Shoyu. For dessert I ate a cup of organic strawberries and enjoyed a little carton of coconut water.
Oh! And LOST tonight! I can not believe that the Grand Finale is this Sunday! So sad, but it will free up my Tuesday nights for the first time this year. Sad.

Accountability
These past couple months have been quite a challenge for me. Just making myself go to school has been hard enough but I am very grateful for the support that I have received from friends and family.
Now that I have, for the most part, dealt with the emotional scaring of being robbed and assaulted at work, my plan is to embrace life. I am attempting to get back into shape and care about my body, a priority which was put to the wayside these last months.
With that said, I plan to start blogging again as a means of holding myself accountable for the change I hope will accrue in the upcoming months.
Today marked the first day of working out in a very very long time. Thanks to my awesome workout partner I hope to be there several more times this week!
That's all I have time for now. The puppy will not stop attacking me with her octopus squeaky toy and I need to read a thousand pages of my Logic book for class.

ac·count·abil·i·ty- the quality or state of being accountable; especially : an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one's actions
Right now I am not raw vegan (jus vegan), though I hope to be once again by the end of the summer or at least high-raw.Today marked the first day of working out in a very very long time. Thanks to my awesome workout partner I hope to be there several more times this week!

What's fer dinner?
Thus far in my raw food adventures I have found that you have to try a recipe at least twice! Try, try again riggghhht? Well this was my second time trying to make Raw Spaghetti; first time not so good... I ended up throwing it away. But the second time! Whew! So good I have to share!
I tried a different recipe and tweaked it to make it my own!
Here is the original recipe and my little additions!
For the sauce:

Here is the original recipe and my little additions!
For the sauce:
*6 roma tomatoes (I used a fist full of grape tomatoes because they are sweeter!)
* 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes (soak for 15 mins- makes a big diff. believe it or not!)
* 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil ( I used dried basil- about 1/4 cup)
*1 green onion chopped
*2 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil (always buy cold pressed!)
*1 tsp Nama Shoyu (for those of you who don’t know this is a naturally fermented soy sauce.)
* 1 garlic clove
*1/2 tsp of raw agave nectar ( I would use raw honey because of all the hype about agave and how it's really not all that good for you.)
*Himalayan salt to taste
*freshly ground pepper
*dash of dried oregano (I used fresh because I had it on hand.)
For the "noodles":* 1 zucchini (put that puppy through a spiral vegi slicer! amazing investment btw.)
* around half a red bell pepper chopped ( I love peppers && red peppers are sweet.)
* to your taste yellow sweet onion chopped ( I did about a half cup.)
*Raw olives! (now they have raw olives on diff. raw food websites but I just use higher end olives from a natural foods store... katamala is good too!)
*dash of Himalayan salt, fresh ground black pepper and fresh parsley to garnish.
And this is what it all looks like!

We all gotta start somewhere right!
So I made this blog a coupla months ago to attempt to keep track of my new, “raw vegan” lifestyle. For those of you who don't know I have been vegan for about 2 years now and vegetarian 2 years before that. Since 2007 I have been interested in raw foods but never quite got it. I attempted going raw back in 2007 and was unsuccessful.
I now know the reasons behind my failure:
Reason 1: I did not believe that someone could live solely off fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds! It’s like Peter Pan and Physics and Religion …..you have to believe that you can fly before you really do! What I am trying to get at is that sometimes you have to believe that something is there before you are truly enlightened.
Reason 2: I had not researched raw foodism enough to know what the hell I was doing….nor had I “prepped” myself to go 100% RAW. Becoming a raw foodie is ALL about transitioning and those notorious “baby steps” comes in handy!
After my little trial and error in 2007 I continued with my vegan lifestyle until this summer of 2009. While just veganism is amazing; I still was not eating to live! I was eating cruelty free and to say the least it was not hard at all. Soy, bread, processed foods are easy to come by. From 2008 to 2009 I put on somewhere around 20 pounds. I blamed my 1st year of marriage and my fulltime school/ work load. But once again I now know the truth, I was eating crap.
This summer I joined a yoga studio and started researching, pod casting, joining raw forums and asking other raw foodies my questions.
I have now been raw from 3 months and have truly felt like a new person. My priorities have changed, my conception of what truly "living" life has grown into a new perspective that I feel is what I have always been searching for. I know, to many of you it is quite cheesy when you hear "inner peace" but I have no cheese in my life! (ha ha) Oh && I have lost 12 pds too!
BUT I have had a taste of this "inner peace" thang! And I like it! I’m lookin fo mo!
In essence I have transitioned from the infamous Wasted Wife to my new concoction RAW WIFEY! As a disclaimer I would like to say that Wasted Wife may have her may make appearances upon occasion :) Hey nothin wrong with the truth riiighhht?
I hope that my blog will aid others in pursuing a healthier lifestyle as I have been inspired by so many other raw foodies blogs!
There. First blog done!
